    OBJECTIVES:
    defending, by all legal means, the persons whose fundamental rights and liberties, as guaranteed by the Romanian Constitution and the international treaties ratified by Romania, were infringed upon;
    educating the public and the media on LGBTs;
    organizing activities to promote the observance of the rights and liberties of LGBT people; increasing group solidarity among the LGBT community members;
    collaborating with organizations that promote the rights of minorities;
    developing services that address the specific needs of LGBTs in Romania.

    The Stichting African Gay Youth Foundation is a Community based organization that provides support to the LGBT Community of African origin living in the Netherlands.
    The Foundation affirms the identities and lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people of African origin and provides education, outreach, programming, program support, consultation, community development, visibility, and advocacy.

  • Sweden

    ANSO is the Association of Nordic and Pol-Balt Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Student Organizations.

    ANSO is an organization working in the interest of LGBTQ students all over the Nordic and Poland-Baltic states region.

    ANSO fights discrimination based on homophobia and transphobia in universities and aims to increase the quality of higher education by fighting heteronormativity.

    ANSO supports local student organizations so they can both be safe places for LGBTQ students and be an important part of its local university community.

    ANSO believes in solidarity across borders and works for LGBTQ rights internationally when possible.

    ANSO has member organizations in Denmark, Norway, Lithuania, Sweden, Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Poland and Estonia.

  • Cyprus

    The first gay oragnization in Cyprus, the A.K.O.K. (Apeleftherotiko Kinima Omofilofilon Kiprou) (Cypriot Gay Liberation Movement), was founded in 1988, after 5 years of efforts, by the Nicosia architect Alexandros F. Modinos.

    The most important achievement of A.K.O.K. -so far- has been that, after a long legal struggle and international lobbying, the Cypriot Government was forced to repeal the ban on homosexuality in Cyprus.

    Arc-en-Ciel Wallonie is a federation of LGBT associations. The goal is to provide a forum between all the associations in the Wallonia region.
    The organization creates a safe space for LGBT community. Beside the daily activities the Federation provides service for individual complaints of discrimination based on sexual orientation for acts that belong to both civil and criminal law.

    Arcopoli is an association working for social and legal equality for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT). Work areas in which we participate together Lesbian, Gay, Trans, Bisexual and Straight are: lesbian, bisexual, gay issues, international, culture and religion, health, education. These areas prepare lectures, symposia, film festivals, contests, stories, workshops, campaigns standardization, visibility, prevention of HIV ... we also have a cabinet psychosexual care for all who need their services and we care about internal training of our partners.

    The FLG is an association of families of lesbian mothers and gay fathers, who struggle for full equality of the rights of our families.
    These are our goals:
    Finding places where our sons and daughters can see and share family models like theirs.
    Working toward awareness and the claim of our rights as a family and of the rights of our children to have this family model and not to be, because of that unprotected.
    It is in this sense that we organize outings, recreational, and ludic and informative encounters in the country or |in the city, to share experiences, to create friendships so that our daughters and sons know each other and play with other children who, like them, have two mothers or two fathers.
    Also we participate in forums, meetings and talks to introduce our social and family reality. We have ascertained that the people who come to know us, love and accept us.
    In addition, we contact institutions, politicians and political parties to explain our situation and to observe the full equality of our families.

    BeLonG To Youth Services is the National organisation for LGBT young people in Ireland. They provide direct services to LGBT Young People, advocate on their behalf and provide training to professionals who work with LGBT young people.

  • France

    Bi'Cause is a French non-profit organization created by and for bisexual men and women, with target to promote the emergence of a bisexual identity. It's the only bisexual organization in France so far.

  • Bulgaria

    The main current goal of Bilitis is:
    - To achieve equality of and overcome all existing forms of discrimination against LGBTI people in Bulgaria
    In pursuing of this goal, Bilitis will:
    - Create a wide platform of NGOs, activists, donors, institutions and citizens, for the social inclusion of LGBTI in Bulgaria;
    - On the grassroots level, will provide different types of support to lesbians, bisexual women, trans- and intersex persons;
    - In the wider society, will work to disseminate the values of civil society, which exclude discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender and gender expression.

    BLUS is an organization for Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans and Queer students. The organization was founded in 1996 and serves as a social platform for LGBTQ students in and around Copenhagen.

    The Campaign for Homosexual Equality is a democratic voluntary organisation working to change the attitudes and laws that make life difficult for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in England and Wales (the Equality Network does similar work in Scotland).
    CHE was formed in 1969. As the Committee for Homosexual Equality, CHE became a national organisation and attracted support from many leading figures in the medical profession and the arts, together with some from the Church. In 1971 CHE changed its name to the Campaign for Homosexual Equality, and over the next few years grew to have a membership of over 6,000 with more than 100 local groups in all parts of England and Wales.

    Cigale is an abbreviation of "Centre d'Information GAy et LEsbien". It is a counseling and information center for LGBT community in Luxembourg.

    The Coalition on Sexual Orientation was established by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT) groups in Northern Ireland in order to provide a voice for the LGBT Community in debates and consultations surrounding the rights of the community.
    CoSO aspires to represent the LGBT Community on issues around sexual orientation. CoSO acts as an umbrella body with which public authorities may consult in order to fulfil their statutory duty to promote equal opportunities irrespective of sexual orientation. It seeks to ensure that the concerns of the entire LGBT Community are adequately articulated and acted upon.

    C.O.C. meant Cultuur en Ontspannings-Centrum, or Centre for Culture and Leisure, a reminder of the pseudonym the organisation initially adopted after its foundation in 1946. COC is the oldest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender organisation in the world. Since its foundation, COC has been instrumental in bringing about considerable social and legal changes for gays and lesbians in the Netherlands and abroad. As one of the largerst lesbian and gay organisations in the world, COC is devoted to a society which does full justice to each individual irrespective of sexual preference.
    Operating on the basis of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, COC has succesfully devoted itself in the Netherlands to a greater measure of visibility, tolerance and recognition of lesbians and gays, and to information, acceptance, equal rights, pension rights, parenting options and AIDS prevention.

    The timing of Lesbian and Gay Pride is fixed by Coordination Interpride France so that the nearby cities do not choose the same date. In agreement with the associations, coordination is developing a common reflection on defined projects or areas of political demands that can lead to a concerted action.
    With 15 cities in France, more than 700,000 people in the streets, more than 400 member institutions and associations, the Coordinating Interpride France is the most unifying gay movement.

    EGALITE was created in 1993 and stands for "Equality for Gays And Lesbians In The European institutions". EGALITE aims at combating any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation. In particular, we act to secure, within European Union bodies and institutions, non-discriminatory treatment for same-sex couples.
