One of the goals of the Nordic LGBT network is to unite the equality movements throughout the region. A great way to make this work is through events where we can bring people together, share experiences and knowledge.

The Nordic LGBT Workplace Forum™ and Nordic LGBT Career Fair™ will be the first event organized by this regional Nordic LGBT team ..

The event will be held at the Stockholmsmässan which is conveniently located a short 10 minute ride from Stockholm city center by commuter train. For directions by car or public transport, see our arrivals page.

Forum Background

The Nordic LGBT Workplace Forum™ is being organized for the benefit of Nordic businesses to learn about the development of diversity strategy using the direct statistics of employee experience in the Nordics. The Danish LGBT Workplace Survey has already been completed and the Swedish LGBT Workplace Survey will be completed prior to the event. Therefore, gaining a sharper image of the LGBT workplace environment in the Nordics. Due to time constraints, Norway and Finland will not be included in the initial research round but will be approached at a later date.

Outcomes

The main outcome of the Nordic LGBT Workplace Forum™ is the development of LGBT diversity strategy in the Nordics. The forum will present real strategies and toolkits for Nordic companies to utilize the power of diversity in the workplace. As the Nordics has a developed LGBT acceptance, this market requires a different approach than many other countries in Europe and, therefore, presents its own challenges.

The second outcome is the further development of a cooperation within the Nordic countries to bring LGBT initiatives together and work towards the common goal of LGBT equality in Nordic workplaces.

The Nordic LGBT Career Fair™ will be held on the 2nd of August, 2012 in connection with the Nordic LGBT Workplace Forum™ which is taking place on the 3rd of August, 2012. The purpose of the career fair is to introduce top talent to LGBT-friendly employers. The fair is expected to attract LGBT students, experienced professionals and allies in order to connect a talented and diverse talent pool with potential employers. The fair will be held the day prior to the Nordic LGBT Workplace Forum™ and attendees from both events will overlap.
