Equality between women and men is one of the fundamental principles of EU law, and furthermore, harassment is mentioned in the national legislation of seventeen European countries.

Vienna, 23 June 2011 – The EU Fundamental Rights Agency released the report Homophobia, transphobia and discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity in the EU Member States.
