Germany: Full equality for federal civil servants
Berlin, 23 Sept 2011 – The Bundesrat, Germany's Federal Chamber, definitely approved today a bill [full text on Bundestag wesbite, in German], that grants equal rights to registered partners working as civil servants, including military forces, for the federal administration.
German Court applies antidiscrimination principle only from 2009
Germany, 28 Sept 2011 – The Administrative Court of Kassel - Hessen [official website] ruled that civil servants living in a German civil partnership (Lebenspartnerschaft) should be equated with spouse for the purpose of pay only from 2009, not from 2003 as requested by the applicant.

Germany, 13 July 2011 – The Bundesfinanzhof, Germany's Federal High Court in fiscal matters, issued a ruling that upholds the decision of the lower tax court to stay recovery of taxes following the denial to file common revenue declaration by registered couples.

Baden-Württemberg, 5 Jun 2011 – The Tax Court of Baden-Württemberg issued a ruling on May 16, 2011 – docket no 9 V 1339/11 – that shares the viewpoint of a precedent by the Tax Court of Lower Saxony of December 1, 2010 – 13 V 239/10 juris – according to which registered partners under German Law (Lebenspartnerschaftgesetz) may apply starting January 1, 2011 for modification of the tax class from I / I to III / V.
